ബോളിവുഡ്

മുംബൈ ആസ്ഥാനമാക്കിയുള്ള ഹിന്ദി ചലച്ചിത്രരം‌ഗത്തെ അനൗദ്യോഗികമായി പറയുന്ന പേരാണ് ബോളിവുഡ് (ഹിന്ദി: बॉलीवूड, ഉർദു: بالی وڈ). ഇന്ത്യൻ സിനിമാ വ്യവസായത്തെ ആകെ പ്രതിനിധീകരിച്ച് ഇതു തെറ്റായി ഉപയോഗിക്കാറുണ്ട്. ബോളിവുഡ് ഇന്ത്യയിലെ തന്നെ ഏറ്റവും വലിയ ചലച്ചിത്രനിർമ്മാണ കേന്ദ്രമാണ്.

ബോളിവുഡ് എന്ന പദം പ്രശസ്തമായ ഹോളിവുഡ് എന്ന പദത്തിൽ നിന്നുണ്ടായതാണ്. ഹോളിവുഡ് എന്ന പദത്തിൽ അന്നത്തെ ബോംബെ എന്ന പദത്തിന്റെ ആദ്യക്ഷരമായ ബ ചേർത്ത് ബോളിവുഡ് എന്നായതാണ്.

ചരിത്രം

1913ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങിയ 'രാജാ ഹരിശ്ചന്ദ്ര' എന്ന നിശ്ശബ്ദ ചലച്ചിത്രമാണ് ആദ്യ ബോളിവുഡ് ചലച്ചിത്രം.1930 ഓടെ പ്രതിവർഷം 200 ചലച്ചിത്രങ്ങൾ വരെ ബോളിവുഡ് നിർമ്മിക്കാൻ തുടങ്ങി. ഭാരതത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ ശബ്ദ ചലച്ചിത്രമായ 'ആലം ആര' 1931-ൽ പുറത്തിറങ്ങി.
